Because it is slightly thicker than 50-weight thread it is perfect for use with sewing bags, applique, machine embroidery, toys or dolls, garments, or when a more defined topstitching or quilting pattern is desired.
The cotton yarn comes from Egypt's Mako region that grows the world's finest long staple cotton. This results in thread that is exceptionally easy to sew, strong, and smooth. Aurifil cotton is mercerized for added strength and sheen, and is virtually lint free.
